Your boxes, in your room, before you arrive.
Ship your boxes to us over the summer. Our team of Cornell students receives them, holds them, and places them in your dorm room — so they're waiting the day you move in.
Six steps to a move-in with nothing to carry
Follow each step closely so every box reaches the right room. If a step is skipped, we can't guarantee your boxes are delivered to the correct location.
Confirm your boxes qualify
- You've received your final housing assignment and contract.
- No perishable, flammable, or fragile items — standard FedEx guidelines (any carrier is fine).
- Each box should stay under 20×20×20 in and 45 lbs, or oversize/overweight fees may apply.
Place your order
Order one unit for each box you're sending. Read every step below first — your labels depend on it.
Print & attach your labels
- Download the label template — six labels per page, so cut them apart.
- Tape two labels to each box, on opposing sides, with clear tape so they stay visible.
- Shipping from a third-party vendor? Put all label info in the "Name" field of your shipping address so it prints on the carrier's label.
Address every box exactly like this
We work directly with Cornell to route your boxes, so your legal name and NetID must match your Cornell Student Center account. Wait until you have your housing contract before shipping — without it we can't deliver to the right place.
Format your NetID like abc123.
Keep your confirmation
Watch for your order confirmation email. Hold onto it — and every shipping receipt — until after move-in is complete.
Arrive to a ready room
Walk in and find your boxes waiting. Prefer to pick them up? We can also hold them at the Student Agencies front desk at 409 College Ave.
Still have questions?
Our FAQ covers labeling, timing, late boxes, and what happens if something's missing.
Simple, per-box pricing
You pay for each box you send. Add an oversize/overweight unit for any box that runs large or heavy.
Receiving, holding, and hand-delivery to your dorm room before move-in. Order one unit for each box you ship to us.
Add one unit for each box larger than 20×20×20 in or heavier than 45 lbs.
⚠ The cutoff is August 7
We can't guarantee pre-arrival service or offer refunds for boxes that arrive after August 7 or with incorrect address labels. Those packages can be picked up from a Cornell service center one to two weeks after move-in begins — we'll send details for late pickups later in the summer.
Two things we're not responsible for: boxes received without a matching pre-arrival order, and any damage or loss caused by a carrier before a box reaches us.
A real team of Cornell students
Not a faceless warehouse. Big Red is run end to end by Cornell students — the same people who load the truck, track your boxes, and carry them to your room.

Good to know before you ship
Who's eligible?
On-campus students, including Greek housing (after confirming with your chapter's housing director). We don't handle DormCo orders.
Which carrier can I use?
Any of them. Just follow standard FedEx shipping guidelines for what's allowed in a box.
What if a box is late?
Boxes after August 7 can't be guaranteed for room delivery, but you can collect them at a Cornell service center after move-in.
A box wasn't labeled right?
Improperly labeled boxes are hard to track. We can't guarantee pre-arrival service for boxes missing the required name and NetID.
Third-party vendor orders?
Put your full label info — name and NetID — in the "Name" line of the shipping address so it prints on the carrier's label.
Where do I send boxes?
c/o Big Red Shipping and Storage, 409 College Ave, Ithaca, NY 14850 — addressed to your legal name and NetID.
